What's new

Every version of AAAstreamz, newest first. The app updates itself: when a new version is out, you'll get a pop-up. You can also check under Settings › About › Check for updates.

Version 1.8 Latest

September 24, 2026

  • AAAstreamz is now the official signed release. It installs over your current version and keeps your login, favorites and settings. If Android or Play Protect shows a warning while updating, choose "Install anyway" (or "More details" › "Install anyway").
  • Settings shows which version you have (top right, and in About at the bottom), plus a "Check for updates" button.
  • Report a problem: Settings › About › Report a problem sends us your app version, device and a log of what went wrong (never your username or password). You'll get a report number to mention.
  • On startup: choose to play the last channel you watched, or just open the channel list (Settings › Interface).
  • On startup: when the last channel resumes, choose whether it plays full screen or in the small window (Settings › Interface › Last channel plays).
  • Starting in the small window now puts the cursor on the channel that's playing.
  • Guide time shift: if the guide lists shows at the wrong time, move all guide times by whole hours (Settings › Interface).
  • Guide: the show that's on now is no longer hidden behind the channel names when the Guide opens.
  • Settings are much easier to use with the remote: the option you're on turns white, and the option that's switched on has a check mark.
  • Speed test: Settings › Speed test checks your internet and your provider's speed, and tells you which one is causing buffering.
  • Channel editor redesigned for the remote: in Edit channels, press OK on a channel to move it (up/down arrows, OK to drop), send it to the top or bottom, or hide it.
  • Movies and Series editors work the same way: press OK on a poster to move it (arrows, OK to drop) or hide it.
  • Hidden channels, movies and shows are now hidden everywhere (All, every category, Favorites and Recent), and you can hide a whole category with "Hide this category".
  • New buttons while editing: "Reset order" puts your provider's order back, and "Show all hidden" brings everything back.
  • Support AAAstreamz: if you enjoy the app, Settings › About now has a QR code to leave a tip on Ko-fi.

Version 1.6

  • Voice "play" picks the right country's channel on more providers (for example USA CNN instead of a foreign CNN).
  • When a channel comes in several versions, voice "play" picks the regular HD one over 4K or SD.
  • Fixed the update installer sometimes saying "App installed" without actually installing.

Version 1.5

September 24, 2026

  • Play by voice: open Ask, hold the remote's mic and say "play CNN", "watch ESPN 2" or "put on Fox News". The channel starts full screen after a 3-second countdown. Press Back to cancel.
  • Voice understands misheard names (the mic often types "CN" for CNN) and prefers your Favorites and Recent channels.
  • Not sure what you meant? Ask shows "Did you mean…" with the best guess selected. Press OK to play it.
  • You can also say a show that's on now, for example "put on America's Morning Headquarters".
  • Ask opens with the text box ready, so the mic works straight away.
  • Back retraces your steps: from the channel to Ask, then to the Ask button.
  • Back now leaves a channel on the first press, even right after it starts.

Version 1.4

  • Guide: show names now start at the visible edge of each box (no more titles hidden off-screen) and wrap onto more lines.
  • Guide: Back jumps up to the categories so you can switch category without leaving the Guide. Back again closes it.
  • Guide: the video now always shrinks to the corner, even after changing channels in fullscreen.
  • Exiting the app now goes to your TV's home screen instead of whatever app you used before.
  • Updates: 64-bit devices can choose the 32-bit or 64-bit build from the update pop-up.

Version 1.3

September 23, 2026

  • In-app updates: when a new version is out, AAAstreamz offers to update itself. Press Update, then Install on the next screen (the first time, allow AAAstreamz to install apps when asked).

Versions before 1.3 were early test builds for beta testers.
